Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, such as your email address and name when you create an account. We also collect content you upload, such as lecture materials, to provide our services. We process your IP address and derived country information to determine service availability in your location and to meet our legal and tax obligations. We also collect basic technical and usage information — device and browser type, pages used, and error reports — so that the service works and we can fix problems. Please do not upload other people's personal data, or sensitive information such as health records, government identification numbers, or payment card details; the service is not designed for it. A lecture recording, made as the Terms of Service require, is the one exception to the rule about other people's personal data.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide, maintain, and improve our services, to communicate with you, and to personalize your experience.

Why We Are Allowed to Use It

Where data protection law such as the GDPR applies, we rely on: performing our contract with you, to give you an account and generate your study materials; our legitimate interests, to keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and understand how it is used so we can improve it; complying with legal obligations, including tax and accounting rules; and your consent, where we ask for it, which you can withdraw at any time.

Data Storage and Retention

Your data is stored securely. We keep your account and the content in it for as long as your account is in use. If a free account is not used for 12 months, we delete the content stored in it — your uploads and the study materials generated from them — after sending two warning emails to the address on the account; the account itself is kept, so you can sign in and start again. When you delete your account, we delete your uploads and the study materials generated from them, along with your account record; backups are overwritten on our normal rotation shortly afterwards. We keep usage statistics that are no longer linked to you, a limited record needed to prevent abuse of free allowances, and any records we are legally required to keep, such as billing records for tax purposes.

Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for advertising. We share it only with the service providers who help us run the service, under contracts that require them to protect it and use it only on our instructions: cloud hosting and database providers, AI providers (see below), our payment provider Paddle, our email delivery provider, our error-tracking provider, and PostHog, which we use to understand how the service is used and which keeps that data on servers in the European Union (Frankfurt). You can ask us at support@regra.ai for the current list of providers we use. We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.

AI Processing

Content you upload (such as lecture materials) is sent to AI service providers so that they can generate your study materials and power the features of the service. Our provider settings do not allow them to use your content for training — they process it only to generate your materials and run the service. We do not use your content to train AI models — and neither do the AI providers we work with. We do not sell it, and we do not make decisions about you with legal or similarly significant effects by automated means. Because of this, please do not type personal details about yourself or anyone else into Ask AI.

International Transfers

We are based in Türkiye and our providers operate in a number of countries, so your information may be transferred to and processed outside the country where you live, including in countries whose data protection rules differ from your own and that have not been recognized as offering an equivalent level of protection. Where that happens we rely on the transfer safeguards our providers offer, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

Payments

If you purchase a subscription, payment is handled by Paddle, our merchant of record. We never receive or store your full card details; Paddle shares with us only what is needed to manage your subscription, such as your plan, its status, and the country used for tax purposes.

Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how the service is used so we can improve it. Our product analytics provider is PostHog, which keeps the data it collects for us on servers in the European Union (Frankfurt); we also use a third-party error-tracking provider. PostHog only loads in your browser, and only stores an identifier on your device, if you agree when we ask — and you can change your answer at any time in Settings. We also count page views and measure how quickly pages load using Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights, both part of the service that hosts our website: they record the page visited, the approximate location the visit came from, the site you arrived from, and how long the page took to appear, without cookies, without storing anything on your device, and without information that identifies you. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not sell or share your information with advertisers. You can block or delete cookies in your browser, but parts of the service may stop working if you block the ones needed to sign in.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you have the right to access your personal information, correct it, delete it, receive a copy in a portable format, object to or ask us to restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent you have given. You can manage most of this directly in your account settings, including deleting your account, or write to us at support@regra.ai and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with how we handled your request, you can complain to the data protection authority where you live.

Children

The service is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child under 16 has created an account, contact us at support@regra.ai and we will delete the account and its data.

Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. If a security breach affects your personal information and puts you at risk, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.

Changes to Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page.
